Four years after The Body Lab opened its first Midwest location in Leawood, the widely popular fitness studio announces its second location will open on Monday, July 29, in The Shops of Prairie Village. The Body Lab specializes in Lagree Fitness, a high-intensity, low-impact workout done on the Megaformer – a patented, Pilates-based machine created by internationally recognized fitness expert Sebastien Lagree. The Body Lab was the first Lagree Fitness studio to open in Kansas. Lagree has gained international recognition since he opened his first fitness studio in September 2001 and licensed nearly 350 studios worldwide since that time. Popular with celebrities and athletes for rapid results, the workout stimulates core strength, cardiovascular endurance, balance, and flexibility. A-listers who have transformed their bodies following The Lagree Method include Meghan Markle, Sofia Vergara and Kim Kardashian, to name a few. Located at 11 On The Mall in The Shops of Prairie Village, the new Body Lab studio will house 12 M3S Megaformers – the first and only fourth generation training machines in the state of Kansas. Each 50-minute group session at The Body Lab will follow The Lagree Method, where individuals are led through a series of different exercises on the Megaformer to strengthen, tighten and tone the body. The Megaformer is spring-loaded with resistance, customizable and highly adjustable, offering more than 1,000 different exercises with modifications that encourage maximum muscle exertion while applying minimum impact on the body. Recommended for all fitness levels, The Body Lab offers a tailored experience unique to each student and classes can be modified to accommodate specific needs. The Body Lab Prairie Village occupies a 1,600-square-foot space in The Shops of Prairie Village at 11 On The Mall, Prairie Village, Kansas 66208. Group sessions will be offered seven days a week, and private sessions are available by appointment only. Multiple levels of membership are available for purchase and all first classes are free of charge. The Body Lab's two Kansas locations are locally owned and operated by Mike and Jena Green. The Prairie Village studio will be The Body Lab's fourth location nationwide and is the second location in a larger expansion plan for the Midwest.
